17th annual WILDCAT INVITATIONAL
March 4
WHEN: Saturday, March 4th, 2023
WHERE: UNH, Hamel Rec Center, 5 Edgewood Rd, Durham, NH (use Lot H ground-level entrance, more info next page)
ELIGIBILITY: Anyone currently registered with any of the national governing bodies USA Judo, USJA, USJF, or ATJA may enter the
tournament. Cards must be presented at registration or a copy uploaded with pre-registration. Membership
applications will be available during check-in with payment by check or credit card only. Collegiate competitors must
present proof of enrollment per NCJA standards. NCJA membership not required. See ncjajudo.org for info. Regional
referee certification offered.
RULES: Round robin for divisions of 3 & 4, single elimination in Grand Champion, true double elimination for all others. Modified
2022-2024 IJF rules as approved by USA Judo. Modifications will include: no chokes under 13; no armlocks Senior
Novice & all Junior; in Senior Advanced/Ne Waza/Veterans under 60 both chokes and armlocks permitted regardless of
competitors’ ages and ranks; in Veterans 60+ no chokes but armlocks allowed regardless of competitors’ ranks. Golden
score time limited where indicated. Any required rest periods in same division will be 1 match time. Ne Waza follows
standard IJF rules with extended time for progress (see addendum). Coaching from designated mat-side coach chairs
permitted during match. Senior Advanced & Grand Champion divisions require white and blue judogi. In other
divisions blue competitor may optionally wear white gi with blue belt. Any additional modifications decided by tournament
director and chief referees subject to tournament day conditions.
